eduroam is the secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Staff, researchers and students from participating institutions in over 100 territories can use eduroam to get online when visiting other participating institutions.

BAS supports use of eduroam by visitors and staff.

eduroam at BAS

BAS provides an eduroam visited service - allowing visitors to connect from their mobile devices - and a home service - allowing staff to use eduroam when visiting other sites.

Visitors to BAS Cambridge

To connect to the eduroam service whilst visiting BAS Cambridge, please ensure that your device has been set up correctly before your visit. Your local IT support service should be able to assist with the required configuration.

BAS Staff

You can use eduroam wherever an organisation provides an eduroam service to visitors. In eduroam terminology, BAS provides an eduroam home service for people with those accounts.

You should use your email address as the username and your standard email password.

Mobile devices

To set up eduroam on your phone use the Eduroam Companion app from the Apple App Store or Google Play

Computers

The preferred method for configuring your device is to use the eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool) - this tool will automatically set your device up to use the eduroam network. To do this, go to the eduroam CAT page and select British Antarctic Survey as your organisation.
